Some Skincare products contain chemicals that can harm your reproductive health

Moisturizers help your skin stay healthy, giving it extra nutrition and preserving its natural beauty. It prevents and treats dry skin, protects sensitive skin and improves your skin tone and texture. Using a moisturizer in the morning protects your skin, as it acts as a temporary barrier against all the filth you come across in your daily life (think about air pollution and the sun). It can also help fight your wrinkles!

BUT... Most commercial skincare products contain chemicals that aren't healthy for your body, but are needed to thicken the cream or lotion or preserve other ingredients (mainly because they contain water). It has been argued that the use of aluminium, alkyloamides (whut??) and other difficult to pronounce perfluorinated chemicals (also known as PFCs) in non-natural skincare products can cause damage to your organs and disrupt your hormones - which can do serious harm to your fertility. Read more about that here.

Natural moisturizers, on the other hand, only contain active natural ingredients and won't cause any harmful side effects. It's also much better for the environment, as the heavy chemicals used in non-natural products pollute air and water.

Read the labels and make sure you understand and can pronounce every word on the ingredient list.

Important ingredients to avoid:

Parabens.

Also known as methyl paraben, propyl paraben, butyl paraben and ethyl paraben. Used as artificial preservative but they can disrupt your hormone cycle.

Triclosan.

Triclosan is used to reduce bacterial contamination, acts as an anti-estrogen with possible adverse effects on reproductive health.

Phthalates.

These are used as solvents and have been linked to sex hormone level deviations and a lowered sperm count and quality.

Lead.

Lead compounds are mostly used in lipsticks, and are therefore often ingested. They're very dangerous to the female reproductive system, it can make you less fertile, can cause abnormal menstrual cycles and may affect menopause.

Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA) and Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT).

Both used as an antioxidant and preservative but can cause disruptions in both the male and female reproductive systems.

Perfume, Parfum, Fragrance, Naturally Scented.

Usually used without explanation and is probably made of petroleum, which can cause cancer, birth defects and central nervous system disorders.

Octinoxate and Oxybenzone.

These are mainly used in sunscreens, can affect male fertility.

You won't find any of these ingredients in any of the products sold in this webshop!
